


A Historical Gem in Ottawa, IL
Commissioned in 1855 by central Illinois businessman and politician, William Reddick, the splendid mansion was the home of the Reddick family for nearly 30 years. The twenty-two room mansion was designed for the William Reddick family by two prominent mid-western architects: William B. Olmsted and Peter A. Nicholson.



Rentals at Reddick Mansion
The Mansion has been the scene of a variety of private events, including weddings, showers, celebrations, concerts, family reunions, seminars, meetings, birthday parties, retirement parties, Christmas parties, and picnics.

The Reddick Mansion Association
Mission
The Reddick Mansion Association is responsible for the historic preservation and restoration of the
Reddick Mansion by adhering to acceptable restoration practices in conformance with adaptive public use.
The Association will foster the use of the Reddick Mansion for the community’s cultural, educational,
social, and recreational experiences, as well as for other beneficial purposes.
History
The Reddick Mansion Association was chartered in 1975 when the Reddick Library vacated the building.
It is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership.
The RMA purchased the buildings and grounds from the City of Ottawa on August 25, 2017.
An extensive $1.4 million exterior restoration project was then completed in 2020 as part of the purchase agreement.
The RMA is comprised of an all-volunteer group that oversees the operations and restoration,
which are supported by donations, tours, rentals, and events.
